candlecrazyinwv
I just started trying to make incense sticks. I mixed 2 oz. of FO (Lavendar from Peak) and 6 oz. of DPG (from Save on Scents). I soaked about 50 sticks in this mixture laying flat in a container for 24 hours and then layed the sticks on an old window screen to dry for 3 days. I layed the screen on top of a floor heater vent to help them dry faster. When I burn them, all I smell is smoke. No Scent smell at all? What am I doing wrong? Would a 50/50 FO/DPG mixture be better? Am I doing anything else wrong?
Candle Man
Here is one site with instructions http://www.candlesupply.com/how2incense.html
Scented
Let me see here, try it at a 2:1 DPG ratio and then at 1:1. Some say there's more smoke at 1:1, but I haven't really found that to be the case. And make sure the stick is dry lol! Sometimes those buggers take so long to dry out. BruceCarvesWax
Its like with candles some scents work and some don't its hit and miss on incense. They smell good or they smell like wet, burnt, dog hair. LOL I'm up to over 140 varieties of incense now. Thanks for reminding me what I was suppose to do today! Incense and tarts today... maybe dip and carve or water candles and tapers too. I better get busy, once I get some turkey and noodles in me it will be all over for getting anything done. Scented
LOL Bruce. You aren't supposed to use your dog's hair for dipping Nice reminder though. I do need to get to dipping that stuff too.
