Makukula
Can anyone please explain to me what frosting is and looks like? All I know its something "undesirable" but really have no idea what it is. Newbie here obviously and just really want to learn as much as I can.:smiley2:
country creek
Ok...frosting is the white stuff that you see on pillars to give them a rustic appearance. Also you see it with soy in containers. Some people work hard to acheive the frosted look while others try hard to avoid it. HTH.I removed the pics.....so there is no confusion. Scented
FYI those aren't rustic candles. Those are drapes. Two different kinds of candles The rustics, they have a lot of white on the surface (typically caused by using mucho steric and a low pour temp.) Look up Judyvega in the gallery, you'll see some frost. There's sorta some frost on these, hidden more by the color ... http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39968Otherwise, frost is what it is in person. Like frost on the ground is a fine white dusting so to speak.
country creek
I was not referencing to the pics as my explanation for frosting used on rustics. Just used that pic for her to have a mental image to see what the frosting looked like. Thanks for clearing it up for her though.
Scented
Not a good pix to chose, because the whites in those are misleading and not referred to as frost
