candlenose
Do any of you have any tips on lifting clear labels without getting your fingerprints all over the underside of it??? Im thinking maybe sliding a knife under and lifting, then eyeballing and TRYING to get it centered. What a pain!!!!
SunshineSundries
I don't use clear lables but when I used boxing tape to make my labels "water resistant", I used two sets of tweasers (?). It was a PIA to do big peices but I'd have to say that a small label (2x4 or smaller) would manipulate fairly easily with them. I'd think it would work easier than a knife would.Life & Light!Tish
Di_in_AZ
I always wash and dry my hands real well. But, I would have to do it a couple of times during the time I was applying labels. I also would only touch the very outer edges. I hate those things, look nice but extra work.
lsbennis
I use the clear labels also and they are a PITA...I do the same thing as Di...just have to be careful and just touch the very edges.
sockmonkey
Even though my labels look totally messed up with fingerprints sometimes, when I press them down on the container, the prints always seem to vanish. I only use them on white containers or brushed aluminum containers, so maybe that's my saving grace.
Late Night
I haven't labeled anything yet so this may be way off the mark, but the first thing that came to my mind was latex disposable gloves. Or finger cots. Both are real thin and cheap. :undecided
charmiesonline
Are you using a full sheet or not?I use a full sheet because I had so many problems with the lining up. Anyway, I cut it the size I need, then peel a little with my fingernail to get the labels off the backing. Then, I pull the backing off the top a little. I usally pull enough down where only my top portion is showing. Basically, when you apply the label, you only put the top portion onto the candle. then slowly peel back the rest of the backing in order to avoid fingerprints. That should work. You do it slowly to avoid bubbles.and if you didn't put the label on straight enough, you can peel it off before you remove the entire backing from the label. HTH!
