  1. I like the second one as well. The irony? I am going to a wedding next week and am wearing a dark blue gown/silver accessories and I have been looking for something to put in my hair that matches--that is perfect!! Shame I cannot buy one from you!
  2. The way I read it, it says they are not liable for any damage or injury from "mis-use or neglect" of the products. To me that says if the customer lets the candle burn next to a curtain, or burn all the way down and causing a fire, they are not liable. No where does it excuse them from liability from defect of their product. I actually think that is reasonable--everytime I see a fire listed in the paper caused by a candle, it is because the candle was left unattended or burned next to something flammable. That should never be the fault of the candlemaker.
  3. Bottom line it is how the customer perceives it. As a frequent internet shopper, in my opinion, I offset the shipping vs no taxes. When I deal with a company that has a location in state and have to pay both, I dislike it--then I start looking local. I think it will have an impact because it is a "perceived" savings. Only time will tell.
  4. Shipping, not taxes. I don't pay $9.00 to run around the corner to buy something--I was chatting about the added shipping. Discussion of the stimulus plan and your opinion of it is politics. There is a thread regarding it in OT.
  5. Doesn't cost me $9.00 something to go get an item from my local store. P.S. Politics are no longer allowed on the board. There is a political discussion area for that.
  6. If it was just that tax, it would be fine, but with internet shopping, you have the added expense of shipping so it would make a difference. People look at the fact that they don't have to spend a few bucks in taxes to offset the fact they have to pay shipping.
  7. The transaction is considered to be subject where the sale is--and most states consider that where the customer is. At least it is in AZ.
  8. Actually this is not knew and in some states you are expected to pay a "use tax" and declare this on your own--in AZ, for example. No one does and they don't have a method to track it so it ends there most times. I did claim "use tax" on my larger purchases (equipment not supplies) because I was depreciating them and claiming them as deductions so having to keep those receipts for my taxes I paid the use tax in case I was audited. From time to time Department of Revenue would send me questionnaires asking me about internet purchases.
  9. Also good for putting a nasty scorch mark on the countertop Thankfully I did that right before we were renovating and gutting out the kitchen!
  10. Ordered once, extremely long ship time and no response to emails. This isn't hit or miss, by the look of this thread, she is pretty consistent with once CS/quality issue or another!
  11. Shocker to me. I haven't ordered recently from ICS, but I had a package from her go missing a couple years back and she resent the order. I have always been accustomed to fast, courteous service. This does not sound like ICS.
  12. Really like the first and third ones, but they all look good I am sure you are excited about the ultrasound--are you hoping any way or the other (beyond being healthy)?
  13. There was a very good reason Adam didn't disclose his age and gender. I never knew it was a requirement on this board, I haven't disclosed my age or gender. Quack, what age and sex are you? Besides, seeing as you only just joined the board recently, it is amazing that you recall a time on here when you weren't a member, I mean we are busy crucifying each other aren't we? He has been here for two years, you have only "been" here on Quack for a few months! Amazing memory you have there! Adam has dealt with enough crap on this board to last a century. He has done fine. He has been around for two years. I hardly see any reason to slam him for what people think he may do. That is ridiculous--what was that movie with Tom Cruise? The one where they arrest people because what they do in the future? Is that what do now, guilty before anything has been done because you stereotype him hang him for that although he hasn't done anything? Rather sad IMO. Kudos to you Adam, you have proved yourself to be a successful business person, beyond many on this board have managed. Keep on going!
  14. Wow..those are really beautiful. Different from the ones I have seen at shows around here. Very nice.
  15. LOL Make sure you tell them to UNPLUG it first. With some people you never know!!
  16. I once had a vendor build his easy up on my booth area. It was clearly marked on the ground and they were also parked in the space behind mine, which was also reserved for me. I told them they would have to remove their easy up and their vehicle. I got the response that they didn't think that I would mind if they were over just a few feet--and that they needed to park their to set up. So I just told them no problem, I would have the show organizers speak to them because I paid $175 for that space and parking area. They moved out quickly Just pure ignorance.
  17. My niece had her room done like an African safari, that would have been perfect Very neat looking!
  18. I did it--right after we had new cabinets in Plugged it in, put in the wax--stepped over to my other counter organizing for the pour--looked around and wax--just pouring down the front of the new cabinets and on the new floor Spent a while with a blow dryer and paper towels before I get that mess cleaned up. DH never knew and everything came off relatively easy--lucky me!
  19. This reminded me of a co-worker who bought one of my candles. I have never cared for her because she is constantly complaining. I was waiting to see what she came up with on my candle. The next day at work she came in as expected and told me that there was something wrong with my candle. She said whenever she came in the room, she could smell the candle but that after a while it lost its scent. She said I must have not evenly scented the candle!! I then explained candlenose to her. Surprisingly I didn't receive any more "complaints". I looked on it as a bonus if I could make her happy.
  20. Weird, I see it on my posts. You can also check my post count-over 500 and OT does not count towards that. Like I said, just not active this year, but still doing swaps and playing with B&B, will be back on track next season.
  21. Chandler, but has been back bench this year due to college/family and other issues. I guess i should add I play in B&B, mainly doing swaps here this year and make my own butter for family use, but never sell B&B. I do have the little candle under my name
  22. Both last year, purely play this year because of school. Looking forward to both next year.
  23. You're right, if they see it they will send a cease and desist. I like the second site also, nice and elegant . So sorry to hear about your house fire, I cannot imagine how devastating that must be for you. I hope you are able to get back to some semblance of "normal" soon.
  24. If you look at the feedback, you will see the pattern. Every once in a while the shill bidder would have to win--not everyone is going to keep the bidding up (I for one don't do bid wars). I thought it was tooo coincidental that this person always bids up.
  25. I agree, that is a very real possibility. But the fact that one person bids on every single auction and bids it up over and over is highly suspicious.
