Kelly
I was wondering if anyone uses BCN's Hot Cocoa FO. I'm thinking about cutting the percentage down from 6% to maybe 4%. The FO seems pretty strong and pretty heavy and I was wondering if anyone else has found cutting down on that FO to prove to be just as great smelling at a lower percentage. I'll test it out either way, but I'm curious as to others thoughts, trials/erros etc.I am using it in EZ Soy but I'd like to hear from all Soy users.TIAKelly
Candlebuddy
IMO, 4% is pretty low. One of the characteristics of soy is that you may need a higher percentage. In soy, it is not unheard of to use 1.5oz to a pound of soy wax ... usually the rule of thumb is 1oz per pound of wax. I've never poured below 8%. Kelly
Yeah, I guess, but this seemed like a really strong FO to me, but maybe I'm just more sensitive to this smell than others. Thanks for the reply.
topofmurrayhill
It's not weird for one FO to be 2 or 3 times stronger than another in throw. One of the strongest I've smelled so far was a chocolate one. Just use the amount you think works right, whatever that is. The numbers mean nothing. Only the results count. Kelly
Thanks TopofMurrayHill. Sometimes my head gets too stuck in the numbers.
Laura
i would try it with that particular fo. i pulled out a little container that holds about a votive's worth made with straight ez-soy and hot cocoa at 6.25% and after a year, it was throwing throughout a few rooms( fairly open). only your sniffer will decide if it meets your standards, but i'd try it.
