wildangel112
I've got my oils melting for soap and think I've got my nerve up to finally try coloring. I'm thikning about using a sample of warm red mica from MMS and have read that's it's best to disperse it in glycerin before adding to soap. How much mica to how much glycerin is what I need to know. Can't find this info anywhere. Any and all help appreciated. Yes, I'm panicking here:o
MichelleOH
BREATHE....Ok I usually use about 1TBS of glycerin to disperse color. I don't measure my mica...I just get the color to what I like. BREATHE:grin2:

Meridith
I just used warm red mica from MMS in my grapefruit and peppermint soap I made this afternoon. It was the only red I had on hand. I used 1 TBS of glycerine to 2 scoops of red mica for a 2lb batch of soap. Its a tester batch to see how it goes. It's in the oven now so I will have to wait to so how it turns out. I've used this mica before but the FO I used with it really discolored brown so it was hard to see the color. The FO I used today didn't not discolor at all so hopefully the color will come through. wildangel112
It's setting up in the mold now. DH has promised to bring home batteries for the digital so hopefully he'll remember and I'll have pics to share tomorrow. No pretty swirls or anything, but I'm proud of it, just the same:smiley2: . daniedb
That's a bea-yoo-tiful color. I got a sample of it too, and played with it in some sugar scrubs. It was gorgeous! I can't wait to see pictures!
