country bumpkin
Hello I am using Joy wax in an 8oz jelly jar container with a 2-1/2 inch diameter. I am using 1 oz fo per pound. I am using the 6" (51-32-18 zinc wick). It took 4-1/2 hours for a full melt pool, by that time the wick is mushroomed and ready to be put out and I feel the scent throw should be stronger. Has anyone used this wax and have any wick ideas?:undecided
country creek
What do you mean by ready to put out? Is the wick ready to exstinguish itself or it is mushroomed so badly you need to put it out?:undecided If it is ready to put itself out, it may be clogged or it is not liking your mixture of fo and wax. Do you have other wicks to try? The benefit of zinc wicks are also their downfall....they do burn cleaner but they mushroom like a champ. You may have to try another brand if you do not like the mushrooming and wick up. HTH
Ruby
Hi..I use Joy wax and a htp 83 in a JJ. My last batch cracks terribly around the wick..like huge holes. Ever have this with the Joy Wax? The HTP 83s work well for me. HTH Ruby
country bumpkin
The wick is mushroomed. I think I may have trimmed the wick to short. I lit it again today and did not trim so short. It seemed to work better.I always have cracks around the wick. I just heat with a heat gun the next day and it is fine.
