lsbennis
What is the best software for graphics and web design?
Kelly
If you got the money, Photoshop and I like FrontPage for web design but dreamweaver is just as good, but you have to take the time to learn those programs. As far as freeware or cheapware I have no suggestions
creeksidecandles
We use Photoshop and Front Page Express as well. Paint Shop Pro is good also....roughly $130 compared to the $1200 for Photoshop, but I use Photoshop for my photography manipulations as well. Just my opinion. lsbennis
I was just looking at Dreamweaver online...how about Adobe Illustrator is that a good program for graphic and web design?
Funky Monkey
I use Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro for my images. I design my client pages with Dreamweaver. Wouldn't use anything else personally
Kymber
I love Digital Image Pro for labels! And do most everything I need on that.
ilovetng
Adobe photoshop is design standard for professional designers. paint shop pro is a really great program, but just not as extensive, but alot more affordable. I use dreamweaver for web design, I design on a mac so ive never used front page.Illustrater is an AWESOME program. now I couldnt live without my photoshop. but illustrater creates vector art, which means you can make it any size and it will still look great, as small as a biz card to a huge bulletin board. Photoshop could do this, but the file would be alot bigger and doesnt look as good, plus once the art is rasterized you cant size up because it will get fuzzy vs with illustrator you can size up at any time. Imo illustrator is harder to learn than photoshopBut if your just going to do design for web and maybe some small print projects then paint shop pro will get you by, but if this is somthing you might want to do for a long haul then Id invest in the adobe creative suite and then purchase dreamweaver on the side. or you can do what I did which is purchase the web bundle, with is ALL the adobe programs and the macromedia programs. Again pricey, but was worth it since i do this for a living lol
RobinInOR
Adobe all the way. I agree, Adobe creative suite and Dreamweaver if you want a gui web design tool.I use Adobe Illustrator for all my labels and marketing materials, and Adobe ImageReady for all my photos (comes with the create suite I think, or maybe it comes w/ Photoshop, it's kind of a subset of Photoshop)Web I do raw, I just use a text editor.
