cybersix
Hi all, there's a thing that really surprised me.. I weighed my pal wax to do a 3"x3" pillars, so I weighed the same amount as my paraffin pillars, that is 320 grams. But the palm pillars are shorter than the paraffin pillars! When I was filling the mold it looked as it was filled at the same level I use to fill. But the pillars are shorter. about 1/4 inch. Is it due to contraction of the palm wax? Or does palm wax have a different specific weight????I never read anything about this.Maybe here on ct should be another calculator for palm waxes??Please help!TIA
SheilaW
Pillar palm wax does shrink a lot more than paraffin wax does. The wax weighs the same.
cybersix
thanks Sheila, but this means I have to weigh a bit more of wax to have a pillar that has the same height of my paraffin pillars!I wasn't ready for such a surprise lol!
