silverm00n
When do you attach the decorations, before or after removing the balloon? Do you then dip the balloon back into the wax to set everything in place? ~TIA
pdevine
Check out Donita's tutorial on these, very informative. You need to release the water from the ballon, remove the ballon from the shell and then apply your decorations. Level the top, then do your overdipping. This is my routine, some may do it different. silverm00n
I found her links but they are no longer active. What do you use to hold the shell for the overdip if the balloon is gone? Thanks for your reply!
pdevine
Simply place your fingers (backs of your hands back to back sorta) on the insides of the shell and dip. Hope this makes sense. Put the backs of your hands back to back, stick them down in the top of the shell and press your fingers against the sides of the inside of the shell and dip. IMO, the overdipping was the hardest part to get right, because timing is EVERYTHING as to how your suface will turn out. If you pull out too slow, you get runs and a cottage chessy look.
