Sherie
Okay you super soapers I have another question. What is a good starting point when using aussie clays in soap? Thanks for the help.
Sherie
Well, I thought I read somewhere that it was 1 tbsp pp of oils. Since I wasn't sure, I used 1 tbsp in a 2 1/2 pound batch. This batch was a couple of firsts for me so we'll see how it turns out.
cindym
Hi Sherie, I love clay in soaps, 1 tbls per pound of oils is what I use or sometimes I swirl with it and just put all the clay and mix with my swirling soap. HTH

Sherie
Thanks both of you! I will but I'm not sure your gonna want to see them. This was my first time using clay and my first time doing CPOP. I took them out of the oven this afternoon. They look a little bubbely so I don't know how they are going to look when I take the out tomorrow.
Maltesima
I usually swirl with the clay, as too much clay can be drying to the skin. If I make a soap with clay dispersed throughout, I use 1 tsp per batch. If I swirl, I use 1 tbsp.mixed with oul for the batch. Of course, after many experiments with clay, I found this to be good for my particular skin type. If your skin is oilier, you could use more clay. Here is a pic of using it for swirls (In the pot swirl). My mold was a half and half carton.HTH:cheesy2:
