White soap

I am trying to make a new recipe using tallow. I want the bar to be white without using TD.

Here is the recipe I have so far.

Tallow 50%

Coconut Oil 10%

Castor 5%

Palm Kernel 10%

That is 75%. I know the recipe is high in hard oils, and tallow makes a hard bar. What other suggestions do you have?

I don't know which soft oils to use to not discolor the bar.

I also have some OO that says 100% olive, it is light in color but I can't find pomace locally. (Would I use OO or Pomace on soapcalc?) Would this darken the soap any?

I could change the percentages but I only have 16oz of Tallow.

Just use the regular OO sap on sooz..

Just an added side note, NG's pear berry discolors white! Gotta love it!

Edited to add: Be sure to use the max amount of water, and you may have to soap a few degrees warmer to keep from getting a false trace.

I was thinking about using some goat milk. Does that discolor soap also?

Yes, it will be orange if you soap hot, and a creamy tan to beige if you keep from scorching it. Why not try coconut milk instead for a white bar?

I have some of that. I'll do that. What about the light colored OO. Will that discolor the soap any?

I use a recipe with lard, coconut oil and olive oil and it turns out white without using TD. I use the extra light Bertonelli olive oil.

No, I just got back from the grocery store darnit.

I'll try it with the recipe and add OO for the rest.
