Brandyanne
I am going to try making melt & Pour soap- I have seen some great recipes on here but many of them just say add F/O -any idea how much is a good starting point?
Darwin
1 tablespoon of FO per pound of MP base or 1 teaspoon of EO per pound of MP base. You can add butters and oils to your base. I alsmost always add 1 tablespoon of castor oil to 1 pound of base. It makes the lather creamier.
Brandyanne
Thank you and thanks for the tip about the caster oil!
sockmonkey
I guess it can vary from supplier to supplier on how much FO they recommend. Some are stronger than others. I generally add 3% FO to my m&p.
Brandyanne
Thanks- I think I should brush up on my math skills before I do this- but I can't wait to try this!
CareBear
VERY generally, 1 tsp weighs about 5 grams, and 1 TBSP weighs 15 grams. Probably close enough as long as you aren't working with preservatives or lye.3% of a pound is 13.6 grams, or about half an ounce.
Laura
half an ounce
