friendlyMOM
wondering what makes one better from the other? I have read cpop cuts the cure time down but is that all? Does it make a harder bar, or some other quality better? Was gonna try this this evening and just wondering, thanks
Carriegsxr6
it just helps gel faster and then evaproates the water quicker. If I make a batch in the early evening, and OP it on warm for 2hrs, I can usually cut it and use it the next morning. It is still a little soft, but after another week it is as hard a a rock. p.d I also do a water discount too
eugenia
I was doing CPOP and now it's CP with a good water discount. Run the recipe through your lye calc, then plug the lye amt in here enter 33% as the desired strength and use that amount of water.Caution, do NOT try this with florals or known seizers. You can check the FO here to see what other soapers say.
Sara
Benefit with CP vs CPOP, for me, is can make many more batches and don't have to worry about oven space. It also is cheaper (no electricity/gas for the stove). I like both methods, CPOP for the faster cure time. It is great to know how to do the CPOP if you would like to crank out a couple batches faster.
