I did a OM&H batch on Saturday... it was a little weird as I wasn't sure what to expect - I had the tutorial so followed it - wasn't exactly the same but it worked.. so Sunday I go to do another batch.. and let me tell you I had soap everywhere - it boiled out of the crock pot all over the counter, on the floor, in the sick.. I think I lost about 4 bars... I'm not really sure what happened.. and not sure I want to do it again.. !! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LOLit was only a 3lb batch and the first time went fine... guess maybe I left it to long before stirring it down....I've never seen soap grow.. but this did.. !!! TexasBrat Posted July 17, 2006 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I cook mine on high the whole entire time. After trace I can not walk away b/c within a couple seconds it rises. I stir it down once and then it behaves and just does it's burbling and churning for a few minutes. I do have to stir it a couple times but nothing like the first time it rises. JCFantasy23 Posted July 21, 2006 Share Posted July 21, 2006 Well if it is your first batch, I wouldnt recommend milk or honey, as they cause heating up - rising, seperation, etc, in HP.
