Does age really matter??

If you've ever smelled an FO that has gone over, you'll know they DO go bad. I have had FOs that were great a year or more after I bought them, and a few that got funky in just a few months. I've never had one that just seemed to weaken, they just smelled really bad. REALLY bad.

I have only had two fragrance oils out of the hundreds that I have go bad. I have more oils than I have hair on my head, and I have a lot of hair. LOL! Both of these oils smelled positively sickening. One was from WSP and the other was from Cedarvale. A couple have lost their scents completely.

I agree with what the others have said.

Also if you can afford to buy amber glass bottles to transfer the FO's into they will last even a little longer. HDPE plastic bottles FO's come in are pourus and FO will evaporate out of the bottle over time. Some you can really tell are citrus, they will make the bottle suck in and distorte.

Also make sure you store FO's in a cool dark place, so they will last longer.

One way you can test evaperation, out of a bottle, is weigh a bottle of FO, don't use it then weigh it again, say in about 6 months. If it weighs lighter you know the oil has evaperated out of the bottle.
