Help w/Dead Sea Salts, please

Recommended Posts

I purchased 20lbs. of prescented Dead Sea Salts to package as favors. They came with no instructions, and I haven't heard back from the seller. I need to do these quickly, so if anyone can help.....

How much do you use for an avg bath? I was thinking of packaging for at least 2 baths. Also, I won't need this much, so I would like to package it all because lots of times people in my ladies group ask to purchase little goodies I have left over from projects. Any recommendations about doing this??

I really need help with this so please help if you can.:cheesy2:

Most of the time it's 1/4 to 1/2 cup per bath. So you could package them in 2 or 4 ounce packages. Not sure what your question is about packaging it all. Are you asking will it hurt to do that or how long will it last packaged?

Thanks Ladysj! The packaging ?? is: What is an attractive way to pkg them? I am wondering how they would look in cello bags tied with a twist? I feel like plain little zip loc bags just wouldn't cut it. If they look nice, the ladies group may want to do them for a breast cancer fundraiser, etc. What would a reasonable price be for a pkg of either 1/2 cup or 1 cup be? Also, I hadn't thought about shelf life. Got any info on that?

Cello bags will work thats how I packaged mine when I first started making them and I tied them with the curling ribbon and curled it. I personally am not crazy about glass in the bathroom but Michaels has some really cute bottles with the corks in them for .99 I made some up in those also. As far as pricing figure what it cost you to make them. Your total price with shipping and the way I do it is to divide the number of ounces into my total and the general rule of thumb is 3 to 4 times your cost. Depending on what ingredients are in them shelf life should be at least 6 months.

Did they list the ingredients in them?

No ingredient list. Description just said genuine Dead Sea Salts with essential oils by L'Occitane. They offered them with no color or scent. I got the already scented and colored because I needed them right away for favors. I looked for quite a bit & felt like this looked like the best for the price. I would just like to get something for the remainder, even if it is to donate it to the ladies aux. for a fundraiser. I saw small jars with the wire bale clasp at $ general, but that puts pkging $$ too high. I think I'll go with cello with typed instructions on cardstock attached. Will post pic when I get done. Thanks!
