Lady Di
I cannot figure out percentages. I have a recipe that is 2.5 oz. total. One of my ingredients is supposed to be added at 2 to 5%. What the heck does this mean? How many drops, grams or teaspoons would this be? I just don't get it. :undecided Thanks.
Sherie
You would take your total ounces and multiply by the percentage you wish to use. Ex: 2.5 X .02 = 0.05 (for 2%) or 2.5 x .05 (for 5%) = 0.125 (which is 1/8 oz). HTH

Lady Di
It is by weight.
CareBear
As Sherie said, 2% of 2.5oz = .02 X 2.5 = .05oz And 5% of 2.5 oz - .05 X 2.5 = .125ozBut it's unlikely your scale is that accurate, so you should convert to grams..05oz X 28.4 = 1.4 grams.125oz X 28.4 = about 3.5 grams
