TwinMom
Hey everyone we are going to a wedding tomorrow and I have to put together a basket for the gift. Of course I have left it to the last minute (working full time for a rheumatologist and having 18 month old twin girls leaves you a little tired!) and I am pouring them a 3 wick rectangle candle that I got from Candlescience. My girlfriend has used it and she cant remember what size wick she used that gave her the perfect burn:drool: So she thinks it is either (square wick braid) #2 or 2/0...the mold is 4(w) x 7.5 (L)x 2.5(H).....I poured my first layer and I used a 2/0 but I am thinking not now. So if that is the case I will just remelt it and use a #2....Thank you GREATLY in advance for any advice and help......I am using IGI 1242 wax
smart tart
You are going to give them a gift of a candle that you have not personally tested? :undecided I would perhaps find another gift and perfect your candles by testing which wick burns the best for the candle you are making. grandmaskitchen
Bad idea giving someone a candle that you haven't tested yet, but that's up to you. Hope she has good insurance in case of a fire!

True, you never know when a big old block of wax with three 2/0 wicks in it is gonna up and explode...Oh wait, that was just my 4th of July candle. Never mind. It'll probably be just fine. Sally
Well now the rush to get your candle made in time is over you can get it finished & have the chance to test it out at a more relaxed pace.In my experience whenever I've tried rushing a candle something always goes wrong.Hope you enjoyed the wedding anyway.Sally. Candlelovr
I personally dont know how a candle would explode unless you added gasoline to the wax. Anyone around here do that? And how much FO do you need to add to cover up the gas smell? Yuk!
