ScentsandMore
This will be the first time I have ever made pillars and the reason I am asking is I was told by someone that you do not have to poke relief holes when using 4045H. I was told that you do your first pour to top of mold then after 3 hours it will sink a little then just do a repour. Has anyone done it this way or is it better to poke relief holes? Thanks. Scented
IMO ... poke, regardless of the kind of wax.

Fern
I use 4045 (not 4045H), but they are basically the same...the "H" mottles more. Definately poke your relief holes.
flutterbye
ALWAYS poke relief holes in pillars...everytime I dont I get a dent that looks like someone hit it with a bat.
eugenia
Poke away, nice and deep. I use 4045H. You can get air pockets if you don't poke.

ScentsandMore
Thanks to everyone who responded. From everything that I have read on this board about making pillars I was petty sure that you need to poke relief holes but thought I would ask. Donna B.
