lindsaycb
Can you sub PKO for coconut in these bars? I did my two batches and now I'm out of coconut, but would like to make two more batches...Anyone ever tried it?
jwahlton
You need the majority of it to be coconut. That is what reacts with the salt.
lindsaycb
that's what I thought too... Oh well, I guess I'll order more coconut. Its not like I don't need it anyway!
maryann
Lindsay not sure if you know or can get it cheaper, but Walmart sells coconut oil in 2lb containers in the baking section with all the other oils. For me at least its cheaper per lb and there's no shipping costs.BTW these containers are AWESOME recycled. I use them to store other ingredients in, as most things I buy are by the lb. I just switched about 15 things over into these containers and I was AMAZED at all the room I had in my cupboards. Its neater and easier than the bags most the ingredients were originally shipped in.
