ignitethesenses
I'm looking at buying an upland mold. I've done cp and cphp and I have a feeling I'll be using them both at some point (maybe even the oven methods...). Any suggestions on what type of mold to get? Log? Slab? I can't cut a straight bar of soap to save my life either...so I'm going to need to get some sort of inexpensive cutter..
diamondk
If you go with a log mold you can get a mitre box and soap cutter from WSP and the ones they have are straight cut and the wavy cut one. I am looking into getting a slab mold from Upland. HTH
Melly
The upland slab molds have cut lines on them, so you just cut along the line to get even bars. I use a soap cutter and Mitre box with my log mold, because I can't cut straight either. It works out well, I just marked 1 inch on my mitre box so all my bars come out even, I have an inch and a half marked off too. Personally I plan on using both styles of molds depending on how I want my finished bar to look, sometimes I like to have fixings sprinkled on top of the soap, and for this i Prefer a log mold, for swirls, i prefer the look of ones done in a slab. Meridith
The Upland slab molds have cut lines too but they are still a challenge to cut a straight line. But if you get an Uplands, I think you will like it. :smiley2:
Sherie
I have a Kelsie and it's nice. I was considering an Upland because of the cut lines. I'm just not sure if it would be easy.
ignitethesenses
I think I'm leaning towards a miter box, soap knife and log mold... Any suggestions on what log mold to get? I want quality and ease of use, but funds are also somewhat limited
