Chunk Over Pour ???

Recommended Posts

Im not sure about this either. I just melt a bunch of plain parrifin and pour it. If I have some left over, its no biggie cause its not colored, it may be scented but I can choose my color based on what scent it is. I think maybe if you get the total amount of wax the mold will hold and then weigh your chunks, subtract the total amt of wax you need from the weight of the chunks..maybe that will work. I havnt tried it yet tho.

eugenia gave a wonderful tip eons ago. Figure out how much wax each mold holds, then write it on the mold in permanent marker.

Make a candle & weigh it or plug the hole and fill the mold with water. Measure the water in fluid ounces. Divide by 1.25 to get your weighted measure of wax.

If you are making a chunk candle, weigh your chunks, subtract from the total weight your mold will hold and that is how much you need for an overpour.
