lindsaycb
I've never tried to use a butter in my soap...SSSSSHHH. But I bought this olive oil that wasn't all olive oil and didn't find out until I made a couple batches that just had a different texture to me. SOfter. Come to find out, its an olive/soy blend. Still a nice soap, but it needed to be harder.SO...I came up with this...and I'm loving the bubbles & silk feeling of the lather31% Coconut19% Palm30% Rice Bran15% Soy/Olive Blend (I figured its more soy than olive...)5% KokumThe kokum I had to melt in the micro before adding it to the soap pot. Marisa
Looks like a good recipe.. Its not drying with the high coconut/plam percentages? I love using kokum is so many products:yay:
lindsaycb
Not drying to me. I always keep my coconut/pal at those percentages because usually 50% of my recipe is olive oil. If I pull them down, won't my bar get seriously much softer?
hisbeloved
I am new to this. The percentages throw me off. Is there anyway to convert these percentages to ounces quickly and easily?
8-GRAN-ONES
If you will go to the soap-calc..and put those percentages in..you will then see how it works..Advice that was given to me..learn to think percents..play around on the soap-calc, I played there for hours when I first started making soap...It will seem foreign for awhile, but it will all start coming together..You will have a blast..it is so much fun..:highfive:
