bttrflikiss
i found a recipe for a candle that i want to try that calls for 2/0 wicking and all i have now is #2 , will it make a difference ?
Kaybee23
The 2 is bigger than the 2/0http://www.peakcandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PCMS&Category_Code=WICKS

Henryk
Try the #2. You didn't go into detail on the recipe so .... There isn't that much of a difference between the two wicks you are talking about if you look up the pool diameters and the ROC.FYI, the wicks with the /0 in front of them are woven tighter than the ones with just the # in front of them. The tighter its braid, the less wax it consumes (ROC). I think the /0 and the non /0 are the same wick, just different in how tightly they are braided - that is why the non /0 wicks are "larger" - they are braided more loosely and therefore can consume more wax (have a higher ROC).If you get undesired mushrooming with the squares that inhibits the flame, then you may want to move to the flat braids instead of the squares. They are less rigid so will curl more and burn more of that off. The downside is that if you are doing a free-standing candle, you have to watch for blowouts on one side in later burns of the candle.HTH
