guppygirl
This soap is about 8 weeks old scented with SW's Spiced Pumpkin Souffle at about .8oz/lb. I'm guessing it didn't reach full gel - it's really neat looking, but can I still use it?
Melly
I dont see why you couldnt use it, soap does not need to gel to become soap. Touch your tounge to it and if it dosnt zap you, you can use it. It definatly does look neat.**Edited because I can't spell
Rebecca_IA
I think it's neat too. Distinctive. As long as it passes the zap test I'd use it.
Melissa
did you happen to just cut it or cut bars in half?I think most all pumpkin fo's contain vanilla and turn brown.. if you did just cut into them.. the inside hasn't turned yet but will more quickly now that they are cut and exposed. Then again if you didn't just cut them.. I have no clue
Meridith
I've had soap turn like this too and it stayed that way. Good thing it was just a practice batch. I'd be curious to hear what causes this too. Hopefully some of the more experienced soapers will chime here.
AngieM
I agree, it looks just cut, and most likely by now, is brown all over

Meridith
I ended up rebatching mine before it apparently had a chance to finish changing color since I thought I had done something wrong. How long does that usually take because I rebatched about five days later and it was still that way? Now I know better and will wait next time. eugenia
Guppy, I have some of it's sisters over here. Orange square around the outside, inside is tan. Meridith, it's been months. They are not changing. That's "soap for me" LOL. DD asked yesterday, "you are saying we get the rejects?" Well.......... YES!!!!! LMAO!e
cindym
The fo may have had some vanilla in it. That is my guess and when it finishes curing it will probably all be brown. I sell a ton of brown vanilla soap.
