cactusladycandles
I am trying to wick a flower pot votive using igi 4630 wax. Has anyone filled these with this wax, and if so, what wick did you use. I use zinc wicks. Also, if you fill above the lip at the top, will this affect getting a full melt pool. Michi
I've done a few of these and I believe I used a 44-24-18z maybe even a 44-28-18z for the harder to wick FO's. Oh I also use 4630. HTH
cactusladycandles
I've tried a 51 & 60 zinc. no luck. isn't the 44 a small wick?
AngelaVA
I've tried a 51 & 60 zinc. no luck. isn't the 44 a small wick?Do you mean that you tried these two wicks and didn't get a full melt pool? Because I think that the 51 and 60 wicks are way too large for a flowerpot votive. The 44 wick is smaller than the 51 and 60 and should work fine in these candles. I used a 44 in these with very little hangup. What hangup there was would clean up on future burns.
cactusladycandles
i tried the 51 & 60 zinc. but i poured above the lip at the top. I'll give the 44 zinc a try. thanks.
diamondgirl_26
I use the 44z. At first it might seem like its not big enough, but when you get to the smaller bottom it will catch up. The 51 smoked to much for me.
Michi
Yah, a 51 and/or 60 are waaay too big for this flower pot, wasn't it smokin' on you???? To the others using the "44z's" WHICH 44z? 44-24 or 44-28?? To me there is a difference, and whenever someone says they are just using a 44z I'm always wondering this??? Haven't tried the other 44 wicks in a flowerpot.
