ladysj Posted March 21, 2006 Share Posted March 21, 2006 What is the easiest way to wick these? Is it better to wait until the wax starts to set a little then stick the wicks down in the wax? candelecandlecompany Posted March 21, 2006 Share Posted March 21, 2006 What kind of candle pies are you making? Usually I drill holes in the pie crust so I can stick the wicks thru. Than I pour a littel bit of gel in the bottom and then the fruit and then more gel over the fruit. With all the embeded fruit the wicks will stay up without a problem. Good luck! I made one without the crust just to see how it would do and so far I'm really pleased. candelecandlecompany Posted March 21, 2006 Share Posted March 21, 2006 Oh I see. I have made some with whipped soy wax and I think they are awesome. I did find if I whip the wax it makes it fluffier and sometimes the wicks stand up without a problem. Also you might try pouring the wax at a cooler temp. You have to whip the wax fast an then pour because it sets up quick. Make sure the beaters are heated too so they wax won't stick to them as much! Good Luck!
