Diane
Need advice. I started using the ultra clear melt and pour soap to make soaps with little toys embedded inside. I am melting the soap in a double boiler. When I pour the soap, it is crystal clear and the toy inside is easily seen. However, as it cools and molds, some of them are coming out more of an opaque color making it look cloudy and hard to see the embedded toy. I am not adding any color or FO. The same thing happened when I tried the fish in a bag soaps. It was hard to see the fish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. xsami3000x
I don't have much experience yet but may be able to help, have you added any scent to the soap? I noticed that some fo's will cloud the clear from a little bit to not clear at all. Other than that I'm not sure what would cause this, are you sure the soap isn't hot enough to start melting the toy?Hopefully someone else can help if it's not the fo,Sami
gerrie
Not sure what base you are using, but I can tell you that some MP clear base are not so clear. Also, make sure you don't have your soap to hot, I found that the hotter it was the more cloudy the soap would be when it set up.
Scent Cellar
In using many different clear melt & pour bases the one that worked best for me with fish in a bag and other soaps that I wanted crystal clear is the base from naturesbouquet.com
candlesbeaulieu
Hi There, I make these and sometimes I find that it helps if I melt it once and let it cool then re-melt and pour....the first time it desolves the moisture in the soap and when I remelt it the second time it comes out perfect.... If you don't want to do that melt it very slowly...Good Luck:D
