Margaritamama
LOOK AT THIS.......I got a Pier 1 catalog yesterday, and saw these. I checked out their website and they're there as well. They're made of a thin titanium foil that melts as you burn the candle! What do you think??? And where could we get the foil?????
Mei-Mei
Those are beautiful! I guess aluminum foil wouldn't work, huh?
Candle Man
Maybe gold leaf would work? It is tissue thin but you would not be able to get a solid smooth candle because the sheets are small. Someone may want to test the Gold Leaf and see what happens. It also comes in silver color.

Mei-Mei
The only thing is, gold leaf is really hard to work with. It flakes so easily that it's best for smaller applications.

Synascents
Those are completely awesome!Dang...would love to do that type of candle!
Jcandleattic
I would think you could just do an overdip in a gold or silver pigment. I know it's been said that pigment can clog the wick, but I dip tapers with wax colored with pigment all the time and it's never clogged the wick. I think with that small of an amount on the over dip it should burn fine.
candlemom
Those are so neat looking- would love to know how they did that.
Fire and Ice
Keep in mind that when you work with Gold or silver leaf that you absolutely MUST apply it with a sable brush and those are not cheap! Also, it is best placing the gold leaf on your wrist and then using the bush to pick it up and applying it to the candle. Never work near any sort of breeze!
