Embeds with hanging loops?

Does anyone have a picture of a gel candle that uses embeds with the little hanging loops? Like these:

I want to see how noticeable the loops are, once covered with gel.

If you use a pair of needle nose pliers and are very careful you can break that loop off. I do it all the time.

a) how do you then suspend the fish without the loop OR

how do you manage to break the loop off without having particles of glass in your gel?

a. I pour my gels in layers so where I want the item to be I wait and place it in that layer. If you push down slightly it will sink just a bit in to the already cooled layer so it will stand up. I don't think I am explaining this well.

b. take a little sand paper to the rough edge. I then clean my embeds with a little alcohol. If you hold on to the fin the loop will pop off almost evenly every time then toss the loop.

you did explain that well, thank you! i have noticed the "bubble fairy" comes to visit me quite often...but, in the fish scenes it's not sooooo bad. i do take a heat source and "zap" the suckers

Never thought of breaking off the loops on them fish.

Vicky when you pour in layers, how do you avoid the layer lines.. or do you zap it with a heat source to blend it back together.

Well popping the loop off was an accident the first time I drop one and it broke the loop off I weny hummmm. Then I noticed on most with the loop embeds the loop is the weak point in the embed.

Layer line I use my best friend my heat gun a quick zap usually takes care of it.

Thanks Vicky, That actually makes sense now that I think about it, the loop part is the smallest part with a large open hole going through it, so it would be the easiest thing to break off.

Think I'll have to break down and get a heat gun..
