thanks...i thought that the slab form had a lower melt point than the goopy bagged wax...(i'm starting to get the #'s confused now!). off to do some more simple testing and even more research! thanks again

i thought by mixing the two waxes together, it may possibly bring the "melt point' down on the entire wax. what i'm looking to say... 4630= HIGH MP, 4627= LOWER MP...therefore, thought by mixing the two together i'd get something a little easier to work with when it came to wicking wider jars. just didn't know if they blended well together...thought someone here may have had some sort of insight on blending the two together.

Just wondering if anyone has ever mixed the two waxes together (half and half)... did they blend ok? thinking that may be the solution to not double wicking the wider jars if i could blend the two together and create an "in between" melt pool.

my next project is to try these gel candles (everlasting). i'm just not certain on the way to go about it quite yet... do you fill the "votive/t-lite" holder up with gel as well or?? Vicky...do you have proper "work instructions for dummies"? thanks! your candles are amazing!

pain isn't the word but atleast the weather is nice enough now to pull weeds in the flower beds between pours. i've received a fundraiser using these candles...money going to AIDS research.

thanks again... yes the colours are the same as #1. the people who are buying these Pride candles are EXTREMELY picky...ensuring that the colours are in the correct order in which they are shown on their Pride Flag. There aren't many variations on this one...there are a few other options i'm going to try but after making one...my patience wears a little thin!

well, tried to get a little more creative with this one... i'm not good at photography but no one is awake to help me out. this one took quite a bit longer to make... i'm learning to have patience...slowly but surely!

Does anyone happen to know of any "Tea" related fragrances? I'm not a tea drinker so i'm not even sure of the different types. I'm waiting for a lady to send me some information regarding fragrances/flavors to match but thought i'd try to be one step ahead of the game. thanks all in advance!

there was a thread on here a while back about using "metal tape". there's no need to use mould sealer while using this tape either so it's just peel and go!

thanks CandleMan...i suppose patience (which is something i lack) and practice is all it takes. atleast i have 50% of the mixture here! i think i know what you are suggesting...i'll give it a try. my next one will be slanted so i'll have to see how it works.

with my candle, it's a mixture of all fragrances. i actually just melted down bits and pieces (broke apart some pillars) to create this. being it was just a trial thing i wasn't too worried that there were 6 different colours with 6 different scents. when my babe goes to nap today i'm going to try yet another one...this could get addicting! :whoohoo:

thank you for all the comments on this pillar. as for time it took, approx 3.5 hours. i'm not quite impressed with the "pour lines" yet know if i pour too hot then the colours will run into one another. as for the votives...that would be a definate NO way! thanks again!

ok, to all of you Americans i feel ashamed and i appologize now for such a "silly" question. I live in a little tourist town in Ontario...many Americans come to this village and I want to be sure I get the colour (color) blue correct for the "American Themed" candles that I will be making. Can someone offer some suggestions...will navy work? Thanks to all who respond...

IGI 4627 has a wax, it's sort of like "thick vasoline". it's great for scent throw, just a bugger to work with if you don't have a vat. It comes in bag form and is "clear" prior to your candle making process. This seems to be what you are explaining to us. The melt point on this wax is quite high and tends to need a "wick up". The frag load is up to 10%. they also have a wax IGI 4630, it's not sticky as mentioned above...this stuff comes in slabs and is white prior to your process. The scent throw isn't as good as the wax mentioned above. Hope this helps?

ok, yes i'm new to this (in fact, i haven't started to make)... after searching for a body/room spray recipe i have noticed that some people are stating to use: 50% Distilled H2O 50% Witch Hazel FO along with this...either cyclomethicone or polysorbate 20 can someone please explain why the variation or the difference in product would be. is this a "fool proof" recipe...or is it like everything...test, test, and test some more? Thanks everyone for any assistance...

you did explain that well, thank you! i have noticed the "bubble fairy" comes to visit me quite often...but, in the fish scenes it's not sooooo bad. i do take a heat source and "zap" the suckers thanks again!

a) how do you then suspend the fish without the loop OR how do you manage to break the loop off without having particles of glass in your gel? thanks for the info!

Crisco-Oil...sorry, my mistake...i did just try the oil for unscented and i found using 1.5 tsp was sufficient per pound of wax. -

i have seen votives that people have made (unscented) after adding Crisco Oil. They look just as good as votives with FO. After test burning these votives, there is no difference. Good Luck!
