fabulousfunfur
I've been asked to do a 'home party' for my soaps at someone's home. I wouldn't even know where to begin! I was never good at public speaking!Would I start with why handmade soap is better than 'department store' beauty bars, and about the ingredients..........The benefits of each of the ingredients.....the types of soaps I offer, etc. What else could I possibly say!?? If I made invitations what should I say to convince people to come!:undecided
Common Scents
I would have LOTS of samples for everyone to try! Your idea about the ingredients is good! For the invitations you do say bring a friend & get a free gift or something to that effect. There are several others who do home shows and can offer more advice than me! LOL! sudsnwicks
Maybe the other way round...start with a brief overview of how you make it, what you put into it, then explain why this produces a better soap than what you buy commercially. Might be interesting too, to give a brief history of soap, and how it is manufactured commercially today. In your invitation, you could mention that everyone gets a free sample to take home with them, no purchase necessary.
lindsaycb
I've never really spoken at a party. If they approach me with questions, I answer them. But I think what would be cooler to do is have bottles of oils & jars of butters and let them know what properties they have. Have them feel the difference between shea & cocoa butter. Then point out which products have which in them. Create displays around those butters & oils.Great time of year to do that too...winter skin versus summer
