lovebug7480
I am new to soap making and am looking for a really creamy soap to make. Preferably an easy recipe without huge amounts of ingredients. I would like to do a bar that lathers really well and has nice creamy suds. There are tons of recipes out there but I do not know what to look for in a recipe that would make a creamy soap. Which oils make a bar creamy and lather well? Does anyone have any recipes the could share for a soap such as this? I would like to do the CPOP method as well. Thanks so much for any info! Linnyeg
I find that cocoa butter adds more of a creamy lather. I use it at 5% in my soaps.
dee263
Castor helps ensure thick, stable lather and shea butter makes very creamy, smooth suds. In my "everyday" formula, I use about 5% caster and 9.5% cocoa. When I add shea I decrease the cocoa (slightly) and PO and add shea at about 8%. This soap is not as luxurious as some but simple and very nice with the addition of the shea. HTH
