epheme
Hello there all,I've been reading this board like crazy, and doing TONS of research. I want to know if your experience matches up with my gut feelings. I'm thinking of trying the following suppliers, for mainly perfume and b&b applications. Perfume mostly. Let me know what you think! Scents in alcohol/carrier oils smell a lot more like they do OOB than in candle/soap, right? more WYS(mell)IWYG?Already ordered a small-ish batch from the scent works (they have my bottles anyway). Looking at: Taylored Concepts, Royal Aromatics, Daystar, A Garden Eastward. I think between these I could get almost anything I want. But please let me know if i'm overlooking something or should skip something. And if there's another board like this, but with a more B&B/perfume focus, please link to it. Thanks SO much! Spellkast
I'd steer completely clear of royal aromatics if you want your products within THREE MONTHS! I'd go with SOS (Save on Scents) instead. Almost all of the perfume/cologne dupes I've gotten from them have been totally dead on accurate and they ship incredibly fast. They are a bit more pricey- but they're worth it, IMO. smart tart
For soaps and B&B I really like Oregon Trails - they have an awesome Chai Tea, Red Currents, Mardi Gras.....uh oh I could go on and on - I love every one of them!! Have been soaping a bunch of Day Star's fo and have been very pleased with them also.....Peaks is another one to check out!

Spellkast
I think Mystical named some of the absolute best suppliers out there- except she's missing Peaks!! And if you want to try out the soap dish or the whisk, they are other boards like this one...I just found out about them a week or so ago and they have some great information on there..also, you should check out the scent review board and scent forum- they'll help a lot when deciding which oils to try from which suppliers (some even list how they hold up in CP, which is great!) http://www.soapdishforum.com/forum/http://www.the-whisk.us/forum/index.phphttp://www.scentforum.com/fsr/suppliers.phphttp://www.grandscentral.com/http://scentreviewboard.obisoap.ca/index.php?sid=0305e7edaae2c81189818a400ff14bd6http://www.thescentreview.com/That should keep ya busy for a while!! Don't forget to actually get up from the computer to make stuff though...that's my main problem! Have fun!
carol k
i agree stay away from royal aromatics slow shipping and their $10.00 a lb oilsmost of them just plain stink. i use millcreek's for most of my candle and b&b products.
epheme
Oh, thanks so much for the links and all your opinions. Keep 'em coming. BTW, I don't plan on making soap - I know y'all love it, but my apt. and my kitchen, esp. is so small, it could go very wrong!
