andrealh1975
I'd like to do a vertical layer in a jar and/or votive (using 2 colors), has anyone tried this? I've done them horizontally, but thought it would look cool if vertical.
Scented
They've been attempted by others before. The people who come to mind are SteveinPA and Rsvlbrat. They used something like tape to trap the wax, laid the mold down and poured, I believe. Perhaps they'll chime in. Their results were on the old board
jenniejr
I could see it working for a votive, but not for a jar. If you did that with a jar, then the wax would be all the way up to the rim of the jar. That would make a real mess if you tried to burn it because the wax would spill over the jar. There has to be room left at the top of the jars to allow for correct burning and a full melt pool. jmo
Scented
Sorry, referring to votives and pillars. I should have been more clear. There was a long discussion on the other board about the jars.

Dee
The only thing I would worry about is that the pillar may come apart before or during burning. Have had that happen with a tilted layer. Votives would be ok because you burn them in a container.
