Hi everyone!  I'm a long time container candle maker, but for "fun" I tried my hand at pillar candle making.  It's always good to learn something new, but with every type of candle there are things that happen in the process that need some explanation.

I used 4045H, used 30 ply wick, heated to 195; added 7 drops of green dye and 1% vybar at 190 degrees, then fragrance oil 5% (I will definitely reduce this to 3% on the next go round) at 185 degrees.  I poured into an aluminum pillar mold 3"X6" at 175 degrees.  I cooled for 2 hours and then poked relief holes and did my repour.   I then cooled 24 hours.

I don't think it mottled quite as much as I'd like and there are some white spots on the bottom which look like they may have come from the repour for some reason.  Although I did a repour, the bottom is still dimpled.

Any feedback/guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

I, unfortunately, cannot help you with technical advice as I have never made a pillar myself at this point but I think it’s beautiful! I love that green! Keep working on it people would love those!
