Deliciously Wicked
I have tried finding info on this and did not find anything. Can you tell me why body butter does not need preservative but body lotion does? Actually I know why lotion does but do not get why body butter does not. Thanks.Anne
donna4909
Because body butter doesn't have water added.

Deliciously Wicked
Oh ok. I guess for some reason I was thinking that it might come into contact with water or if you were sticking your fingers in it like if its in a jar since its thicker then you could spread bacteria. Thanks for the responses I really appreciate it.Anne
sudsnwicks
Even if your finger was moist when you stuck it into your jar of body butter, the water doesn't mix into the product, which is why it's okay not to have a preservative.
