GalaxyGirl
Hey all I've been seeing others paint their wax tarts like the Easter Egg Tarts, was wondering if anyone knew what type of paint was used and where I could get it, also heard someone say something about markers that could be used on wax. Hoping someone will have some insight on this. TIA ??
Jcandleattic
I personally wouldn't use markers. At hobby lobby or Michael's there is a paint medium that can be used with an acrylic paint that you mix together to put on wax. I just just do colored wax pours myself. It's not any harder than actually painting them, so that's what I do.
GalaxyGirl
Thanks Jcandleattic, but is it safe to use it on melts that go directly into a warmer? I wouldn't think that acrylic paint in a warmer full of melted wax would be very appealing. Here's a picture of what I want to do ?
Jcandleattic
I don't know. As I said, I just use colored wax.
GalaxyGirl
Ok Thanks, I think I'll try using the colored wax to paint with ?
Jcandleattic
I dont' actually "paint" with the wax, I pour colored wax into the mold "pockets" then do the over-pour. Works perfect.
GalaxyGirl
Oh ok, I don't use dye and I don't think I'm skilled enough to try that, lol ??
