When to add fragrance oil?

Recommended Posts

So Im just curious about something. Most people introduce the oil at 185 degrees. Do you do the same for a oil that has a flashpoint of say 155? Do you think introducing a 155 oil at 185 can burn off some of the scent?

Flashpoint is simply the temperature at which an oil will ignite IF introduced by a spark or flame. It has nothing to do with burning off scent. You would have to keep your wax at a constant high temp for a very long time to burn off any of the scent.

So as long as you are not making candles near an open flame, you don't have to worry about the flashpoint of any fragrance.
