label question

Why do you need to put a manufacturer or distributor name on the label? If it is a product you made, even from a base, you are the manufacturer, so your name or your company's name is sufficient along with the ingredients used. What is the product?

I put my company's name on my label, which is the manufacturer's name. Even though I use a base, I've added fo etc to the base and I distribute it for sale. I have never seen a crafter list the company where the base was purchased on their label.

chrisasst, I read the links you provided, and I didn't see where you have to name the manufacturer of your ingredients.  If you make the product, you are the manufacturer and do not need to tell your customers from where you source your ingredients.
