When to add fragrance oil?

I am new here, and this is my second post.

I apologize if I categorized it wrong or any thing

Else. I am wondering when I should add my scent and oil.

I was making candles last night, and when my wax reached

175•, I took it off of the stove and added my color and oil.

The temp dropped immediately and I had to stir and reheat

To 175. I'm wondering if I should just add it

When it reached 175 and not take it off of

The stove. Will it evaporate or no? Thanks.

Also, I glued my sick to the bottom using hot glue,

But as soon as I poured my wax, the wick came up

Gluing wicks if you are going to use a glue gun you need to make sure you glue is High temp.

It okay if the temp drops you just need to make sure your fragrance is mixed at recommended temps.

Many people add FO at 185 and, yes, your temp will drop. One can also pre-warm the FO to help prevent this drop and not "shock" the wax (more important with veggie wax). Once added, stir the wax and FO until you reach your pour temp.
