Terry
Hi, I am testing 4627 wax, 8 oz square mason with HTP-73/83 wicks and am finding that when the candle burns to the end of the end of the jar I have about 1 oz of wax left when weighed. This seems like an awful lot of wax for a small jar. I currently use the 6mm wick tab and feel that if I used anything less like the 3mm the jar would be way too hot. I also use glue dots to keep the wick in place which may raise the tab up even a slight bit higher. Any ideas?
Old Crab
I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 6mm neck, even with wick stickums. Personal preference on my part but I like to err or the side of safety.
rjdaines
The higher wick tab is doing what it was designed for and that is to leave unused wax for safety. Stick with the 6 mm.
