cassie
Hi Everyone! I am new to the boards There is so much helpful info here!I have a question. I have been making soy melts with Ecosoya advanced wax and I love the way they have been turning out. I know typically it's advised to use a pillar blend for tarts/melts. Does anyone have any advice/thoughts on why the Ecosoya should or should not be used for melts? I know they are very soft but I am using the plastic clamshell containers and they pop right out of the container, and cleanup hasn't been a problem either...Thanks for your time!! rjdaines
Container waxes a typically too soft for melts which is why people add a pillar wax. I can't even use CB-Advanced is containers here in AZ because of the heat in an out of doors venue, the darn stuff melts and look awful. Hot throw with CB-A can also be an issue as it likes a limited range of FOs so mixing in PB (for example) may help that as well.
SuzyK
I don't CB Advance but I do use a mixture of the ecosoya PB and excel and love it. If you are getting good results, then you're probably fine. Though if you're going to be shipping them, you may have problems during the summer months. I didn't read very good reviews on CB-A so I never tried it.
e911
I use Ecosoya Pillar Blend and it tends to work well for me, but then again, I am new and may not be the best judge of this. So far, everything I've made through the winter has smelled great out of the warmer. Some scents though get weak quickly, but those are the ones I keep and use myself.Practice is the best advice I've gotten from folks here.
