Heaven Scent Candles
I have been looking everywhere:read: and i cant find if its ok to use metal molds for the bath bomb. This is my first time trying. I used the metal mold I have and what a mess*faint*. Any help would be great. I was also wondering if there is a site with good prices for the plastic molds?Thank you,Suzan
ksranch
You can use metal... AH/RE sells them. They also have plastic ones, but I find them cheaper at Hobby Lobby. At Hobby Lobby they aren't designated for use as a bath bomb mold, but they are the same thing AH/RE sells for moldshttp://rusticescentuals.com/3-D-Circle-Bath-Bomb-Mold.html
Heaven Scent Candles
Thank you so much for replying. I am going to hobby lobby today to try and find some. They don't seem to come out of the mold in one piece is there a trick such as fridge, wait time, cool mold first:confused:? :yes:Thank you for the advice.Suzan
ksranch
Could be a couple of things - with the metal molds I sometimes "coat" the inside with baking soda and that helps - or it could be your stuff is a touch to dry - spritz (sparingly) with Witch Hazel. Heaven Scent Candles
I'm going to try the baking soda that's a great idea thank you. How long should I leave them in the mold before removing?
ksranch
I remove mine from the molds immediately.
SuzyK
I use metal and plastic for my bath bombs. I have some little bowls that I bought at IKEA that i use plus some of the plastic ornaments that I got at Michael's.I also spray with witch hazel to get them to stick together better.I like the idea of coating the inside with baking soda, sometimes mine don't come out right and I have to redo them.I also remove mine right away. ksranch
yep, I have a separate bag of bsoda that I dip the mold in and shake off all the extra so it's very lightly coated, but it works!
Heaven Scent Candles
What about the smell of the witch hazel how do I get rid of that? It stinks so bad that i can't smell the fo*faint* Do they make a scentless one or is there something else to use? I'm going to have to buy the molds on line no one around here sells them. UGH I spent 2hrs running around and how disappointing that NO one has any here*shudder*.

Heaven Scent Candles
:wave:Hi Suzie Thank you . I am going to try to do a Lego. I saw one that was in the shape of one so I thought I'd try I just hope the thing will come out of it. I'm so glad all I have to do to clean is use water. I just make sure they are really dried out. Is this ok?
