kfintoni
I poured a 16 oz mason jar in lilac last night with a lavender color. It looked great last night but this morning it had horrible wet spots but not one big one just tons of little ones giving it a spotted like effect. I tried with a heat gun to pretty up the sides but now I have a huge white frost like patch on the candle and it looks horrible. I am using GFB 444. Any suggestions on what caused it and how to prevent it. I know I should not worry about the wet spots but they drive me nuts. I wait till nice and slushy under 100 degrees pour really slow and don't touch the jars for hours. My house was really warm last night so I don't think they cooled too fast. Thanks Karen
blt212
Wouldn't worry about the wet spots. The Frost showed up because you used the heat gun on the jar....the wax warmed and then cooled and Mr. Frosty showed up. I heatgun the tops but never the sides....HTH
JI
Go white uncoloured imo. Also try hot pour like 160 or so. Prior to pouring spritz with windex and dry with lint free cloth. Only heat gun tops. Frosting happens as wax cools and contracts. It is amorphous and forms crystals. Edited May 9, 2013 by JI
