Terry
Hi and happy to be a part of this community! My first sales were this past Christmas after about a year and a half of part time testing I finally mixed the 70/30 soy/pf combo which I really like in 12 oz status jars-- sold for $15.00 around work and neighborhood during the season. Subsequently I tried a few palm wax pillars, hard time with wicks-will be doing more research and testing on these. Interested in the mottled look. So I would like to know if there is a special technique where I could use the 70/30 soy/pf combo to get the mottling effect, or do I have to buy mottling wax? Please see a sample of one of the candles I e...did not decorate the ones I sold, just a few that I gave for gifts. Your responses and comments are appreciated! Scented
I don't think you can get mottling with anything but paraffin.
lsbennis
I don't know the answer to the question but I thought your candles are very pretty!
Chefmom
Yes, if you want a mottled candle, either container or pillar, you need paraffin. If you add soy to paraffin, even a little you will take the mottle away and have a creamy candle. You can use palm and have the crystallized look. They make container palm and pillar palm, but it has it's own set of rules.
