scrubzz
shortly after this thread started, I received an order of Peak's 3" economy molds that they had on sale and to my surprise they are a touch under 3" in diameter. The wick pins will not fit inside. This mold will actually slip inside my other 3" molds and they are flat bottom so a lot of putty is required to level them on the pin. Here is a Wick Pin that is 8" long with a 2" diameter Base http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Mold+Accesories&product%5Fid=WP2%2D5

BerryPatchMama
Very helpful replies! It was those economy pillars that they didn't fit in that got me wondering. so I ended up ordering these wick pins I saw on ebay, but they were cheaper at the sellers site. They had a pic on ebay, but not on the sitehttp://www.letitshineusa.com/products.asp?cat=
scents for me
Yes they do. Pillars wick pins go on the outside.
scrubzz
I believe the wick pins with the 2" diameter base are actually designed for multiple wicking molds where the bases of the larger pins would be hitting each other
