  1. Was just running the same issue through my mind. I use 8 oz jelly jars, 6 oz. of product per jar. My label reads 6 Oz. It's maddening when I see others who advertise their product by the size of the jar and not the weight of the product. But there's not too much you can do about it.
  2. What kind of wax do you use, I'd like to use soy but am unsure of which to use.
  3. I am doing a baby expo in February and am thinking of taking some dipped bears. What type of soy would you suggest I use? I use 464 for my candles, but I'm worried it may be too soft. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!
  4. Just wanted to say thanks again the hot throw in the baby powder was amazing. I could smell it through the whole house. The White tea was a softer scent and smelt alot like hot tea.

The 1/2 oz lasted about 10 hours! Thank you so very much!

I started testing about 9Am this morning, with a half an ounce. I probably should have waited longer but I'm in a time crunch. In a tealight warmer after 3 hours a had a faint scent throughout the house. I had to run out and decide I'd pick up a electric warmer to continue my test. I restarted my test in the 25 watt electric warmer almost two hours ago and it's throwing even better. So, I'm at about 5 hours and going strong. I'll let you know how long the melt lasts.

They look great, one is a little rough on top, a second has a little air hole, both fixable I think using a little left over wax. I am thinking of using a weighted amount of the left over wax instead of breaking up a clamshell for testing, have you ever done that? Thanks so very much for your help I really appreciate it.

So far they look great!!! I figured I'd test them Thursday or Friday.
  9. I having been making gel candles for my husbands business clients for about five years, I switched to soy about 10 months ago. I'm stilling learning what works and what does not. It has been very frustrating at times because the soy is more difficult than the gel. But I keep at it, at least my trash smells good when I put it out!

Well, I just poured some clam shells using this blend, what a mess. I heat the wax to 140 and as soon as I put it in the pyrex it started to become thick and gooey it looks more like pancake batter. I poured at about 100. Any advice, I only brought a five pound sampler.
  13. Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'll keep in mind the advice on the event planning if and when she uses my candles. I feel so blessed that I have been able to find two new shops opening within my area since I started my business the end of June. But, I still have so much to learn and am so thankful for this forum.
  14. I am putting my candles in a new shop in the next few weeks, she will also do event planning. The theme will be babies, maternity, and weddings. Beside my fall line I would like to try some new scents that will work in 464 and with the theme. I figured I'd try Candle Science fragrances since they are on sale. Suggestions please :smiley2:
  15. I don't know if it was moving rooms or reducing heating time, but it seems to be working!
