  1. Life size! (about 1 1/4 inches) Thank you all!
  2. Just plain chocolate (i.e. the only available in the shop I buy in!). But I don't like fragranced candles a lot, so I just put a few drops of oil, enough to cover paraffin smell.
  3. I feel creative in these days! Greetings from Italy!
  4. I can try to send them to you from where I live (Italy!) but I think it would be expensive...
  5. yes, they are. I made them by dripping wax from a fork on a baking paper sheet
  6. Yes, I use them to make muffin and cupcakes candles bottoms too
  7. Maybe it's because I whip paraffin with a fork, but the more it becomes stiff, the more it becomes grubby! Not smooth at all... By the way, it's not hot, it can be touched without problems...
  8. Does soy wax give these beautiful results when whipped and piped? Wow, I must try it!
  9. I really can't use the pastry bag, but I wanted to make the cupcakes, so I put the whipped wax on the bottom (previously made with a kitchen mold) and I "carved" it with a toothpick while it was still warm... and here are my very first cupcakes!!!
  10. That's interesting! I'll try that way too!
  11. For the decorations I use this mouldable wax http://www.hobbyland.eu/eng/prod/00000003/00000029/0/12796.htm, I make a thin layer with this pasta machine http://cookaround.com/yabbse1/foto/data/14490/P6280429.jpg and then I cut it out with fondant cutters, like this one http://www.utilcasa.it/304-3615-large/stampini-margherita-a-espulsione.jpg .Thank you for your compliments, people who received the candles yesterday were happy and impressed and the bride was very delighted! Hooray!
  12. Thank you all! The X day get nearer and nearer and I'm a bit nervous... I hope the guests will like these favors... It is very uncommon to receive candles as favors here in Italy...
  13. Vanilla. There are no many scents available here in the old Italy. I made the "bowl" using a normal kitchen aluminuim mold, putting the wick in the middle of it while the wax is still liquid. When the bowl was ready, I took it away from the mold and then I whipped the wax- 80% paraffin, 20% stearin - (just like you do with cream to make it whipped. You just have to wait till wax starts hardening), one color at the time and put it on the bowl using this http://www1.tescoma.com/images/zbozi/420216.jpg, which is an ice cream tool. A little bit of white wipped wax at the top and the cherry is made with mouldable wax.Done! (I hope my English is understandable)
